Cluster 4:Women’s Movement and Policy Advocacy for Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE).

The UoN WEE Hub seeks to establish the relationship between women’s self-mobilization through grassroots associations and the national women’s movement in relation to WEE. We shall evaluate the strategies used by women’s movement in the making of 2010 Kenyan constitution (1991-2010) and upscale these strategies by women’s movement to advocate for WEE.

The strategies identified in the evaluation will be used to improve the following: Strengthen women’s movement to advocate for WEE, mobilize women leaders to own the evidence generated by the hub, advocate for implementation and up-scaling of AGPO childcare models, Women Enterprise Fund, Youth Fund, and Micro Small Enterprise Act (MSEA) with specific focus on young women accessing Youth Fund, identify key and successful women entrepreneurs to mentor young women entrepreneurs in the 12 counties,  use strategies used in constitution making to mobilize for senior government officials’ support, use evidence to review particularly affirmative action funds for up-scaling, lobby for change on labor laws and budgetary allocation through relevant institutions and get women’s organizations at national and county levels to own the WEE agenda and self-mobilize even after 2025.
